How To Make Hot Water Out of Cold Water

Ingredients:
  • 1 bathtub full of ice cold water
  • 1 large pot of boiling hot water
Instructions:
  • Mix 2 ingredients together and enjoy!
You may be wondering why I would include such a recipe? Oh, it's because Jon and I have been without hot water since last Thursday. Yes, you counted right...almost a full week! Two plumbing visits, a rebuilt water heater, and continued ice cold water later, we have been told that this could be an electrical issue. I say, bring on the electrician!!

And now you know why this recipe (given to me by a dear friend, Shannon!) is essential to me right now. Happy hot showers to you all!

Welcome To Our Blog

Hello, new friends! My sister {Brittany} and I are starting this blog to post recipes and share our entertaining ideas. Occasionally we'll tell you all about a fabulous find since we are all about saving money these days because we are just starting our families. Plus, our husbands have us on a tight budget. But let's be honest, tight budgets don't mean you can't have fun and put your own stamp on your home. And since we are no longer funded by the ultimate finance department, which consisted of our mom and dad, we've become quite good at being thrifty. Apparently our husbands did what our dad thought was impossible.

Before we go any further, we should probably tell you a little more about ourselves. I'm the oldest and am happily married to my high school sweetheart, Luke. I'm a stay-at-home mom to our little boy Austin, which means that I'm a chef, chauffer, event planner, teacher, nurse, and guidance counselor. But most importantly, I, along with my husband, am just the person that God entrusted to take care of one of HIS children. I love spending time with my family more than anything, but when I'm not doing that I love to read, scrapbook, write, and decorate. Someday soon I would love to learn how to do a little professional photography. Here I am with two of the most important people in my life...

I'm sure Britt will want to give you her own version of life as she knows it, but until then here are the basics. She is the middle sister and definitely keeps us all entertained. She married her perfect match last August and they are truly, blissfully happy. She and Jon have a heart for reaching the lost and I'm constantly blessed to see how God is using them to further His Kingdom! However, there is always plenty of time leftover in the Yeager house for some good cooking and finding an amazing deal on something fabulous. Brittany is also very crafty and I have some special reminders of that throughout my house. Here are the lovebirds in all of their newlywed glory:

Don't be surprised if she posts a picture she likes better. I just wanted all of you to see how fun these two are and why we love spending time with them!

Although we are only 2 1/2 years apart, God made us very different. The wonderful thing about this fact is that where one is weak the other is strong. No matter how much distance separates us, we remain close and enjoy frequent phone dates. But most importantly, we have another special {and by special I DO NOT mean special ed} sister named Claire. She is Baylor bound in the fall and may make a guest appearance on our blog since she is a great writer. However, she is still funded by the finance department and will be enjoying the joys of college cafeterias for at least a year. The good news is that she WILL have a dorm to decorate and we will make her post pictures! Here she is with her financial supporters:

So there you have it...more background on these Texas girls than you ever wanted to know.

You're welcome.

Obviously, we love trying new things so feel free to leave a recipe or some thrifty decorating and entertaining ideas so we can impress the husbands with our mad frugal skillz!
